Sports Bets - How to Do the Research to Win Bets by Jason Kowalski

When you're looking to make wagers on sporting events, you want to have as much knowledge as you can before placing your bet. To accomplish this you need to do your research. You need to find out as much information on that game as possible to increase the chances of winning your bet. But where's the best way to find that information?

The first place you can look is by watching ESPN. With new information being delivered as it happens, ESPN is great for finding out if a key player is injured, or the field conditions are. Since you're already watching tv, flip over to the weather channel to see if rain is likely for tonight's matchup. If a heavily favored team that likes to pass has rain in their forecast, you may want to bet on that big underdog with the running back you like. If you have a friend who is a huge fan of a certain team that you're considering betting on, ask him if he's heard anything that might change the way the game plays out. Begin a fan of a team you may not care too much about, he or she may have tips that could save you money in the long run.

After gathering all this research, you need to weigh the pros and the cons against each other and decide if your initial feeling on that game is the same as what you're feeling now. Some websites will analyze the data for you, but charge you to receive their pick for that game. And that doesn't even include placing any bets.
